Ethics, Organisations and Society #1 - Environmental Corporate Social Responsibility and Its Role in Shaping Business Model Innovations of Developing Economy SMEsThis paper aims to address an existing theoretical and practical gap regarding explanations on environ-mental corporate social responsibility (ECSR) and its connectedness with developing economies market-level constructs such as business model innovation (BMI). The presentation suggests a systems approach that incorporates the social network and stakeholder theories to establish ECSR as a critical resource by which developing economy Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) can improve the way the firms position to offer higher value to their markets. The paper argues that SMEs can become more environ-mentally conscious and responsible in the pursuit of their businesses through interventions from the broader environmental actors. The paper presents a conceptual framework that guides policymakers and future research endeavours in understanding the interrelatedness between ECSR and BMI of developing economy SMEs for improved value creation, delivery, and capturing.Connect with James Cook University, Singapore:

- 41:13Research Spotlight Series #4 – Tackling Aquaculture Disease with Genomic and Molecular ToolsAquaculture is central to Singapore’s food security, yet disease outbreaks remain a major constraint. My research focuses on harnessing genomics and molecular tools to tackle disease challenges in sustainable aquaculture in Singapore, with particular emphasis on Barramundi (Lates calcarifer), Asian Seabass. By integrating pathogen environmental DNA (eDNA) monitoring with quantitative PCR (qPCR) and digital PCR, we aim to establish sensitive early-warning surveil-lance systems for pathogen detection. These approaches reduce outbreak risks, strengthen farm resilience, and support sustainable production. This lecture will highlight how molecular diagnostics and genomics can advance fish health management while contributing to Singapore’s long-term food security strategy.Connect with James Cook University, Singapore: Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jcu.singapore.fanpage/ Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/jcu_singapore Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jcusingapore Follow us on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@jcusingapore And for more news and information, visit https://www.jcu.edu.sg/
