Ethics, Organisations and Society #1 - Environmental Corporate Social Responsibility and Its Role in Shaping Business Model Innovations of Developing Economy SMEsThis paper aims to address an existing theoretical and practical gap regarding explanations on environ-mental corporate social responsibility (ECSR) and its connectedness with developing economies market-level constructs such as business model innovation (BMI). The presentation suggests a systems approach that incorporates the social network and stakeholder theories to establish ECSR as a critical resource by which developing economy Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) can improve the way the firms position to offer higher value to their markets. The paper argues that SMEs can become more environ-mentally conscious and responsible in the pursuit of their businesses through interventions from the broader environmental actors. The paper presents a conceptual framework that guides policymakers and future research endeavours in understanding the interrelatedness between ECSR and BMI of developing economy SMEs for improved value creation, delivery, and capturing.Connect with James Cook University, Singapore:
