- 53:30Elite Migrants and the Dynamics of Migrant Hierarchy: Unveiling the Layers of Global MobilityPeoples, Cultures and Careers #2- Elite Migrants and the Dynamics of Migrant Hierarchy: Unveiling the Layers of Global MobilityDuring this lecture on 17 September, Assistant Professor Kathleen Park explored the dynamics of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) – specifically, how elite migrants from both the Global North and Global South face unique challenges in the GCC due to status incongruence – stemming from not being hereditary citizens in the region. Despite their elite status, these migrants often encounter biases similar to those in the US and Western Europe, influenced by race and class dynamics.
